Empowering Lives Through Compassion

About Us

It was a bright July morning in 2000, in the heart of the Bronx. A woman found herself reflecting on the many blessings she had — the privilege of living in America, the joy of having healthy children who attended school, and the opportunity to work. Yet, amid her deep gratitude, there was a palpable sense of yearning. She had not forgotten her roots, nor the struggles she had endured to get here.

For Beatrice Nkumsah, this profound sense of gratitude and longing ignited a powerful drive to give back. She felt a calling to help the voiceless women, children, and families in Ghana — those who had been silenced by domestic abuse, sexual assault, poverty, and a lack of education. She knew that these vulnerable individuals needed someone to stand up for them, to advocate and fight on their behalf. Determined to save the generations of her homeland, Beatrice founded what would become Morning Glory Center Ministries, now known as Morning Glory Center Foundation, Inc.

"I'll love you as if you were my own daughter."

Our Mission

"I know what it feels like to be a runaway. I know what it's like to be rejected and living on the street. I know what it feels like to be sexually assaulted, and the desperation you can feel when you want to learn but don't have the access. This is personal."

At Morning Glory Center Foundation, Inc., we are dedicated to making a positive impact in our community. Through our various programs and initiatives, we strive to empower individuals and families, providing them with the support and resources they need to thrive.

What We've Done

Since its founding, Morning Glory has made a significant impact by sending three 40-foot containers and one 20-foot container filled with donations, including over 5,000 pairs of shoes, more than 2,500 articles of clothing, and countless toys. We’ve also sponsored numerous children to attend school, championed the rights of disabled communities in Ghana, and donated medical supplies to hospitals across the country. Additionally, we played a key role in establishing a library in the Ashanti Region.
